Maison D’Lux Cakes
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ordering your Maison D’Lux Cakes masterpiece.
Ordering & Enquiries
Every Maison D’Lux creation begins with an enquiry. Share your celebration details, inspiration and preferred date through our enquiry form, and we’ll be in touch to guide you through the rest.
We recommend enquiring as early as possible, particularly for weekend and peak-season dates, as availability is limited. The sooner we hear from you, the more freedom we have to bring your vision to life.
We always try to accommodate short-notice requests wherever we can. Get in touch with your date and requirements, and we’ll do our best to make it work.
Absolutely — bespoke commissions are at the heart of what we do. Share your vision, inspiration and the occasion you’re celebrating, and we’ll create something entirely your own.
Yes. Many of our designs can be adapted to suit your colours, size or occasion — tell us which piece has caught your eye and how you’d like to make it yours.
Yes — a 50% deposit secures your booking, with the remaining 50% due before collection or delivery.
Your order is confirmed once we’ve agreed the full details together and received your 50% deposit. An enquiry alone doesn’t reserve a date, so we recommend reaching out early.
Cake Sizes & Servings
Our cakes range from intimate single-tier creations to elaborate multi-tier designs for larger celebrations. Explore our Cakes collection for examples, or share your guest count with us for a size recommendation.
As a guide, our single-tier cakes typically range from 6–10 inches and serve approximately 12 to 30+ guests, while two-tier creations serve upwards of 35. Exact servings for your chosen design are confirmed at enquiry stage.
Of course — the sizes shown are a starting point, not a limit. Tell us the size you have in mind and we’ll talk through what’s possible for that design.
Yes, from elegant two-tier designs to grand multi-tier showpieces for weddings and milestone celebrations. Share your occasion with us and we’ll help plan the right structure.
We do — heart-shaped cakes are part of our signature repertoire, and we’re always happy to discuss other shapes. Share your idea with us to see what we can create.
Design & Personalisation
Yes, colour is one of the easiest ways to make a design your own. Use our online configurator to explore options, or simply tell us your preferred palette when you enquire.
Most of our designs can be adjusted — adding a topper, removing a detail, or reworking an element to suit your celebration. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll talk through the options.
We welcome them. When you enquire, you can attach reference images directly — they help us understand your vision, even though the finished cake is never an exact replica.
We love bringing a theme to life, whether it’s inspired by a favourite character, colour story or milestone. Share the details when you enquire and we’ll talk through how to interpret it beautifully.
Of course — our gallery is a starting point for inspiration, not the limit of what we can create. Bespoke commissions are very much welcome; tell us your idea and we’ll bring it to life.
We use every photo and inspiration image as guidance rather than a template to copy exactly. As each cake is handcrafted by hand, small variations in design, colour and detail should be expected — it’s part of what makes it truly yours.
Flavours & Allergens
Our cakes and cupcakes are available in a range of Classic and Signature flavours, with their own selections for dessert pots and cheesecakes. Visit each collection page for the full flavour list, or ask us directly.
If there’s a flavour you have in mind that isn’t listed, tell us when you enquire — we’re always happy to talk it through.
All of our cakes and desserts are halal, vegetarian and alcohol-free. If you have any other dietary requirements, let us know when placing your order so we can advise accordingly.
Our kitchen handles common allergens, including nuts, and we cannot guarantee that any item is completely free from them. Please let us know if nuts are a concern so we can advise on the best approach.
We take allergies seriously and will always talk it through with you, though we can’t guarantee any item is completely allergen-free, as our kitchen handles nuts, gluten, dairy, egg and soya. Please tell us about any allergy when you enquire.
Our full allergen information is available in the Allergens & Dietary Requirements section on our homepage, and repeated throughout the site. Please also feel free to ask us directly at any time. View our allergen information.
Collection & Delivery
We’re based in East London, United Kingdom.
Yes — we deliver across London and the surrounding areas.
We cover London and the surrounding areas. Share your postcode when you enquire and we’ll confirm delivery for your location.
Delivery costs vary by location and will be confirmed with you directly once we know where your celebration is taking place.
Collection times are agreed together in advance, once your order is confirmed, so that everything is ready exactly when you need it.
Your cake should always travel on a flat surface — ideally in the boot or footwell of the car rather than on a seat, to keep it steady and level. We share full care and transport guidance with every order to help it arrive in perfect condition.
Refrigerate your cake as soon as possible after collection or delivery, and keep it away from heat and direct sunlight. We share detailed care and serving guidelines with every order to help it stay at its best.
Cake Care
Refrigerate it as soon as possible and keep it in a cool spot, away from heat and direct sunlight, until you’re ready to serve. Full care guidance comes with every order.
Freshness can vary by design and flavour, so we always recommend enjoying your creation as close to collection as your celebration allows. Our care and serving guidelines, shared with every order, will give you the full picture for your specific cake.
Yes — in fact, we recommend refrigerating your cake as soon as possible after collection or delivery to keep it at its best.
Take it out around 2–3 hours before cutting, so it has time to reach room temperature before serving.
Payments & Changes
Payment details are provided securely on your individual invoice once your order is confirmed. We don’t publish our payment information on the website, to protect our customers from anyone falsely posing as Maison D’Lux Cakes.
A 50% deposit secures your booking, with the remaining 50% due before collection or delivery.
We understand plans evolve, and we’ll always try to accommodate changes to your design or order wherever possible. Changes requested close to your event may be more limited once ingredients have been ordered or preparation has begun, so please tell us as early as you can.
If you need to cancel or postpone, please contact us as soon as possible. As ingredients, time and materials are reserved specifically for your order, cancellations made close to your event date may not be eligible for a full refund — the specifics will be confirmed with you at the time of booking.
Get in touch as soon as possible and we’ll always do what we can to accommodate a new date. As with other changes, flexibility may be more limited the closer we are to your original date.
